The bronze mounts stamped to the reverse 'KAHN'.

The rectangular Verde Antico marble top above a frieze applied with laurel leaves on gilt-bronze female caryatid supports and rectangular supports applied with anthemion, on an H-shaped plinth centering an urn flanked by sphinxes.

The original model of this table was part of the furnishings of the bedroom of Caroline Murat at the Elysee Palace made by Jacob Desmalter in 1808. The design relies heavily on the work of Percier et Fontaine and originally sported a mosaic top from Herculaneum which was replaced by a marble top in the late ninteenth century.
